Diego

On December 17th, 2023 Sunday I had finished my shift at the local urgent care and was grocery shopping. My youngest Aiden called and said Diego was unresponsive and EMS had been called. I arrived at his mother's house and a police officer was barring entry to his room. EMS personal was working on him for too long. One of the paramedics stood up and left the room. He stared in to the distance holding his stethoscope in his right hand as if it has been useless. EMS personnel left the room and the officer said everyone had to clear the house as it was a crime scene.

My youngest son Aiden has said he did not know exactly what has happened. He had seen Diego stumble out of the room and back into his bedroom, and he supposedly fell back to hit his head.

Diego's closest friend said Diego had shot him in the stomach. He was sobbing as he said he did not understand how this could happen when he shot Diego in the right shoulder. Present in the same room was his sister. Aiden and his mother had also been home when this happened. She was intoxicated again.

The neighbor Big Al collapsed when I told him EMS had stopped the code. Al and Diego's mother had given him CPR. "I loved that kid," he sobbed.

Eight months later August 23, 2024 I received the Autopsy report. Paramedics were called at 1856 hours and resuscitation was terminated at 1927 hours. There were were no toxins nor sign of any other trauma. Toxicology was negative for: Amphetamines, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine metabolites, Ethanol, Gabapentin/ pregabalin, Opiates. There was an entry wound at his anterior right shoulder. The pellet had travelled through the right anterior 2nd -3rd intercostals space, anterior right upper lung lobe, medial right lower lung lobe, perforated the right upper pulmonary artery, grazed a right thoracic vertebral body. He had a litter of blood in right lung and 800 ml in his left. A gray projectile was recovered. A historian reported that he has fallen backwards to hit his head and the report notes a cerebral hemorrhage. Under Summary and interpretation it notes "several knives and rifles were in the room." "Notable holes in the walls and doors were present."

I have requested a policy report of the history and observations made at the scene. I was told I would need to contact an attorney.
